The BaCH Initiative is governed by a Steering Committee, composed of stakeholder representatives from all the partner organisations worldwide. This Committee is in charge of discussing matters concerning the BaCH Initiative once a quarter and upon demand. The Secretariat, that is in charge of the coordination and implementation is administered by the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS ). The Initiative is embedded in the on-going work of the Biodiplomacy Initiative at the UNU-IAS and as such the UN-system.
The BaCH Initiative considers partnerships with bi- and multilateral donors and development agencies as well as NGOs, foundations, universities and research institutes worldwide. Such partnerships are established with a view to ensuring complementarities and synergies in biodiversity and community health capacity development as well as to promote donor harmonisation and aid effectiveness in the long term.
