Walking the path toward sustainable development the Equator Initiative, one of the Biodiversity and Community Health (BaCH) Initiative’s key partners biennially honors local innovations linking people and nature through its Equator Prize. One of the previously awarded local spotlights in India, Maharashtra aims at creating sustainable livelihoods and improving the health of rural communities through the conservation of medicinal plants conservation and revitalization of traditional health practices and the use of medicinal plants.
